Mike is originally from Ft. Myers in Lee County, Florida, and is a graduate of the University of Florida. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in Real Estate and Urban Development. Mike began as independent fee appraiser in Lee County during the early 80s. He has lived in Northwest Florida since 1985 and is familiar with most of the areas in the region. Mike personally does all the research, analysis, and writing of the appraisal product.

In the 9.5 years prior to establishing Rogers Valuation & Acquisition, Inc., Mike was associated with G. Pratt Martin, Jr., MAI, as vice president of the firm, G. Pratt Martin, Jr., and Associates.

Mike is a former adjunct professor with the University of West Florida and Pensacola Junior College instructing Real Estate Appraisal. He is a member of the Pensacola, National and Florida Association of Realtors.

Mike was President of the Northwest Florida Chapter of the Appraisal Institute from 2000 through 2002, Vice President of the Western Region of the Chapter from 1999 through 2000, Chapter Residential Admissions Chairman from 1997 until 2001 and ex-officio and Chairman of the Nominating Committee from 2003 through 2004.

Mike was a Member of the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board (FREAB) from June 2007 until January 2014. He was Vice-Chairman of the Board from February 2009 through January 2010 and Chairman between February 2010 and February 2011. The Board is composed of seven members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Florida Senate.
